This house had been home to Doug McKenzie from 1948 until his passing in 2012. Doug was one of the last of the 'originals', being the first residents of the Fishermens Bend Estate. Doug was a tiler. He was also the President of the Sandridge Trugo Club for many years and an essential member of the Trugo team. Doug recalled starting school with a slate.
