Chapman Memorial Hall sold for $2.19m.
According to Greg Hocking Holdsworth director, Warwick Gardiner, the seller was a developer who had carved off the 349sq m block from a larger parcel of land he bought for $4.75 million in 2017.
The former church was bought by a family who intend to create a family home.
New townhouses are soon to be built on the neighbouring block, but plans were scrapped to convert the church, which has a heritage red brick facade.
