Interesting that the City of Port Phillip database* shows a picture of no 82 from 1974. Not much has changed beyond a coat of paint on no 82.

86 Raglan St, Port Melbourne
86 Raglan St is for sale. There is something about the simplicity of the original brick house that appeals to me as well as the way it catches the evening light. It is one of three, though one of the houses has been painted so it is not so obvious.

The newly completed Armada apartments in Nott St featured in the Age today and includes some gorgeous photographs of the cedar entry foyer.
Architect Craig Yelland of Plus Architecture described the look of the building as 'industrial seaside aesthetic rather than the cruise ship model.' Read more of the article here.
The cedar entry foyer would make returning home a pleasure. See more of Armada on Buxton's website.
In Port Melbourne, Buxton has also constructed Aqueous, the Anchorage Apartments, and the Zinc apartments.

'... Armada Apartments, a six-storey residential complex comprising 41 one and two-bedroom apartments and basement car parking at 115 Nott Street. Designed by Plus Architecture, the building's exterior is influenced by its seaside location and blends characteristics of modern day and historic shipping ports. The lower level reflects the sweeping lines of today's maritime architecture as well as visual interpretations of the everyday working machinery seen in a port environment. In contrast, the upper level design is based on an abstract grouping of sails while the selection of building materials complements the maritime theme.' (Edition 1, 2010)

Dow St was closed to all but local traffic today as a second crane was brought in to take away the crane from Waterside - behind Bianca. Always a relief to see the crane go. Dugga Beazley's boats hang on - to the right of the truck.

Edwards was elected to the Port Melbourne Council in 1972 and was mayor in 1975/76. His wife Jessie died at South Port Community Residential Home in 2011 after a life time of service in the Port Melbourne community - especially with the Peter Mac Auxilliary.
